Baylor Summer Organ Camp

28 February 2025
The Summer Organ Camp at the Baylor School of Music provides an exciting opportunity for talented young organists. An intensive week of study and varied musical experience is offered within the college environment of the Baylor campus. Students are housed in supervised dormitories and have the use of University practice and recreational facilities, including Baylor’s large collection of 10 organs.
The Summer Organ Camp is open to rising 8th-12th graders. Musical activities for the week include private lessons, master classes and lecture-demonstrations with Baylor's Associate Professor of Organ, Dr. Jens Korndörfer, and Eugene Lavery; guest faculty organ builder John Wolf, early music specialist Dr. Julia Dokter, and carilloneur Lynette Geary will give additional workshops. Participants have regular practice periods, will attend faculty recitals, and close the week with a concert of their own on the Petty-Madden organ (IV/92) in Jones Concert Hall.
